Biennial 2026

Commitment to Exhibit

With entry into the 2026 Wisconsin Artists Biennial, artists commit to exhibit their work, if selected as a finalist, for the duration of the exhibit. Withdrawing artwork after acceptance as a finalist disqualifies the artist from award consideration and from future exhibits. Artists are not allowed to “swap” out a piece of artwork that was accepted and no longer available.

Any alteration of the artwork causing substantial deviance from the entered image(s) may disqualify the artwork from the exhibit at the sole discretion of WVA and MOWA personnel.

Copyright

All artists are responsible for ensuring their subject matter does not include any copyright infringements. The artist waives MOWA & WVA of all legal responsibilities if an artist is challenged by another party for copyright infringement. By submitting your artwork you are confirming you have secured any required releases and are not in violation of any laws.

Image Use

By entering work in this exhibition, the artist gives WVA and MOWA the right to use images for digital and print promotional purposes.

Sales

Work need not be for sale to be eligible for the exhibition. MOWA will contact the artists with sales enquiries, and coordination of the sales and delivery will be directly between the buyer and the artist. Artwork must remain on site until the final date of the exhibition.

Liability

Artists are responsible for insuring their hand-delivered or shipped work. WVA is not liable for damage to artwork in transit or during the exhibit. MOWA is not liable for damage to artwork in transit, but appropriate insurance is provided during the exhibit.
